when you are at market research, you know you work in advertising when:

- you are the only one person using a mac

- your desktop is an imaginative recreation of Alice in Wonderland, and other people’s is the researched product

- you have no open spreadsheets, but a PPT, and you scribble in your notebook

- you listen to market research groups and your brain thinks ad lines

- you eat the cookies

- everyone around you thinks USPs, you think emotions

- you notice minor style details

- you drink coffee like it’s your job. in fact it is

- you enter a room and people noticeably notice you, even you don’t want to be noticed

- people comment on your business card and to you it’s just a business card

- you walk around with the wireless headphones for observation

- you take your building ID pictures wearing the same headphones as well

- you carry a pencil and your notebook even to the bathroom
